FAISALABAD: Roshan Wala police on Thursday arrested two men for allegedly beating three villagers with sticks at a village kabaddi ground. The attack left the complainant with a fractured right arm.

According to the FIR registered at Roshan Wala police station, seven men were nominated in the case along with six to seven unidentified men.

The case was registered on Sept 14, 2026, under sections 148, 149, 337-L(2), 337-F(i), 337-F(v) and 337-F(vi) of the Pakistan Penal Code.

The FIR, lodged by Rashid Hussain of Chak 83 GB Thandi, says three of the nominated men were lying in wait at the ground on Sept 8. It says he was passing the ground with his young son at 6:15 pm when the men stopped him.

The FIR says Zohaib struck Rashid Hussain with a club and fractured his right arm. It says another nominated man struck his left hand with a stick and dislocated a finger joint.

The FIR says Arsalan and Ikhlaq reached the spot on hearing the noise. Both men were also beaten with sticks and Arsalan suffered a broken finger with blows to his shoulders and back.

The FIR says the grudge went back to a fight among children playing at the kabaddi ground a few days earlier.

Rashid Hussain stated in his application that he called the police helpline 15, after which a Rescue 1122 team gave first aid to the injured and shifted them to hospital.

A police spokesman said SHO Roshan Wala Inspector Shahid Pervaiz had arrested Zohaib and Tahir. The spokesman said legal proceedings against the two men had begun.

The city police officer (CPO) said those who beat citizens over personal grudges deserved no leniency. He said operations against lawbreakers were continuing across the district.
