FAISALABAD: Faisalabad woke to very unhealthy air on Saturday morning, with the US AQI at 283.

Fine dust particles (PM2.5) stood at 208 micrograms per cubic metre, about 14 times the World Health Organization’s 24-hour limit of 15. IQAir named PM2.5 the main pollutant.

At 6 AM, IQAir recorded 21 degrees Celsius, humidity 35 per cent and a west wind of 2 kilometres per hour.

Weather.com forecasts a high of 30 degrees Celsius and a low of 18 degrees Celsius, with mist and morning drizzle and a rain chance of 30 per cent.

Sunday should bring sunny conditions, with a high of 30 degrees Celsius and a low of 17 degrees Celsius and a rain chance of 5 per cent.

IQAir forecasts the AQI easing to 251 by 9 AM and 216 by noon, reaching 176 by 3 PM, 124 by 6 PM and 116 by 9 PM, with a daily forecast of 157, rated Unhealthy.

Children, the elderly and people with respiratory conditions should avoid outdoor exertion, wear a mask and keep windows closed in the morning and after sunset.
