FAISALABAD: Eighty more green tractors were distributed among farmers in Faisalabad district in the fourth phase of the scheme, while 354 farmers received pay orders under the Apna Khet Apna Rozgar programme, a DGPR handout said.
The keys of the green tractors and the pay orders were handed over at a ceremony held at the Ayub Agricultural Research Institute. Senator Rana Sanaullah Khan, Adviser to the Prime Minister, attended as chief guest.
PML-N leaders Mian Qasim Farooq and Ajmal Asif, Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Numan Siddique, agriculture department officers and a large number of farmers were also present.
Under the Apna Khet Apna Rozgar programme, pay orders were distributed among 354 farmers selected for the allotment of agricultural land in the district.

Rana Sanaullah said the provision of agricultural facilities to farmers and their economic strengthening was among the top priorities of the government. He congratulated the successful farmers of both schemes.
The Green Tractor Scheme and the Apna Khet Apna Rozgar programme would make farmers self-reliant and develop the agriculture sector, he said. Beneficiaries facing any problem or difficulty should approach the relevant offices, he added.
He said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir were making full diplomatic efforts for peace in the region and a ceasefire.
Merit and transparency held basic importance in all schemes of the Punjab government, he said. The PML-N leaders said the whole process had been completed 100 percent on merit through online applications.
They said the green tractors and the allotment of agricultural land would give farmers economic stability and pave the way for higher agricultural production.
Applications for both schemes had come in far beyond expectations. Farmers who could not succeed in this phase could apply again in the coming phases, officials said.
Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Numan Siddique said farmers who had received green tractors and agricultural land should cultivate their land fully and obtain the best agricultural production.
