A garbage stand that stood for two decades near Treat Bakery in Madina Town has been removed. A public park will be built on the site, the Faisalabad administration said.
Commissioner Faisalabad Dr Imran Hamid Sheikh said around 2,100 houses and 65,000 to 70,000 residents suffered disease and foul smell because of the garbage stand. Residents had strongly demanded its removal from the urban area.
Work has started to build a public park on the cleared site. Providing citizens a clean environment is the administration’s top priority. Every possible step is being taken for it, the commissioner said.
