FAISALABAD: Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Nauman Siddique has ordered a fresh survey of every government school in the district.
A comprehensive report on classrooms, utilities and basic facilities is due within 15 days. The official handout said Mr Siddique issued the directives while reviewing progress on the 29 key performance indicators released by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz‘s office. The survey will record electricity connections, dangerous classrooms, boundary walls, washrooms and drinking water in every school.
The DC directed that road maintenance squads and their vehicles be made functional at once. He also ordered every faulty street light in the city restored immediately, with daily monitoring of the repair work.
He directed that water filtration plants be kept functional, with standard photographs of each plant uploaded to the official portal. Expressing dissatisfaction with the Suthra Punjab programme, he stressed a better system of road cleaning and waste management.
He ordered an effective crackdown on wall chalking, illegal banners and advertising boards, with all such material removed at once. Family parks and green belts were to be cleaned regularly and kept in good order.
Improvement requires not mere reports but practical steps and a visible difference in the field.
Anti-encroachment operations were to be sped up in every tehsil, with regular reports of the action taken. He also ordered better cleanliness in vegetable and fruit markets, with waste lifted daily.
Road-washing machinery was to be kept available, with roads washed regularly across the city. For hospitals, he directed better availability of stretchers and wheelchairs, cleaner wards and improved facilities for patients.
The DC said all departments concerned must take practical steps to achieve the KPI targets. He warned that no negligence in performance would be tolerated.
