Rana Abid said that we may not be ready to admit it, but it’s a reality that politics has divided the people of Pakistan and inflation has frustrated them. Without debate, only one thing can unite us– even if for a few moments– and that is cricket.
He said that even political rivals would not stop exchanging words when any Pakistani player played a cover drive or knocked down a South African batsman.

Faisalabad Police Announces Foolproof Security Plan
Faisalabad Police has announced a foolproof security plan for the Pakistan-South Africa cricket series. The Faisalabad security plan for Pak-SA cricket series aims to ensure maximum safety for players and spectators during the international event.
CPO Briefs Media on Security Arrangements
Addressing a press conference on Monday at the Police Lines Complex, City Police Officer (CPO) Sahibzada Bilal Umar said that security around Iqbal Stadium has been divided into three zones.
He said that over 7,000 policemen including SPs, DSPs, Inspectors and others will be deployed in shifts at different security points.
Key Security Points and Personnel Deployment
The key areas where security personnel will be stationed include the airport, Serena Hotel, Iqbal Stadium and designated parking areas, as well the routes used by players.
He added that female police officers will be stationed for the checking and security of women spectators.
Teams from the Elite Force, Dolphin Squad, and Police Response Unit will remain on patrol across the city.
Safe City Authority and Surveillance Measures
The Punjab Safe City Authority will monitor all important locations, including Iqbal Stadium, through surveillance cameras, he said.
The CPO assured that all security SOPs will be strictly followed to ensure a peaceful environment during the international matches.
Traffic and Parking Arrangements for Spectators
Talking about the traffic plan, he said that more than 1,000 traffic wardens and assistants will be on duty. Citizens have been advised to use designated alternative routes for smooth traffic flow.
The Irrigation Department Ground (in front of State Bank), Dhobi Ghat Ground, and Agriculture University Nezabazi Ground have been allocated for parking.
He said that shuttle services will operate from these locations to transport fans to Iqbal Stadium.
He also urged the public to cooperate with the police and follow the security plan to help make the event a success.
