Faisalabad woke to very unhealthy air on Sunday morning, with the US AQI at 294.

Fine dust particles (PM2.5) stood at 219 micrograms per cubic metre, about 15 times the World Health Organization’s 24-hour limit of 15. IQAir named PM2.5 the main pollutant.

At 6 AM, IQAir recorded 21 degrees Celsius, humidity 32 per cent and an east-northeast wind of 7 kilometres per hour.

Weather.com forecasts a high of 30 degrees Celsius and a low of 18 degrees Celsius, with mist and a rain chance of 30 per cent.

Monday should bring mostly cloudy conditions, with a high of 29 degrees Celsius and a low of 17 degrees Celsius and a rain chance of 4 per cent.

IQAir forecasts the AQI easing to 263 by 9 AM and 230 by noon, reaching 197 by 3 PM, 157 by 6 PM and 150 by 8 PM, with a daily forecast of 178, rated Unhealthy.

Children, the elderly and people with respiratory conditions should avoid outdoor exertion, wear a mask and keep windows closed in the morning and after sunset.
