LAHORE – After the successful execution of the inaugural Made in Pakistan – SME Expo Showcase 2026 in Lahore, SMEDA has facilitated women and microenterprises’ participation in an exhibition of products from Gujranwala at the Karachi Expo Center.
The Made in Gujranwala Exhibition 2026 reflects growing momentum in Pakistan’s SME sector.
The three-day event brought together more than 100 companies showcasing a diverse range of locally manufactured products, which highlighted the industrial strength and innovation of Gujranwala.
SMEDA’s Role in Empowering Women Entrepreneurs
Earlier, Nasir Hussain Shah, Minister for Local Government, Housing and Town Planning in Sindh, opened the three-day ‘Made in Gujranwala Exhibition 2026’ organized by the Gujranwala Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI).
CEO SMEDA Nadia Jahangir Seth, in a statement, said SMEDA’s participation in the event reflects its broader mandate to strengthen Pakistan’s SME ecosystem, with special focus on women-led and microenterprises having potential for innovation and business growth.

Government Support for SME Ecosystem in Pakistan
With support from the Ministry of Industries and Production, she said, SMEDA aims to translate honorable Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s vision of achieving inclusive economic growth into reality by extending support to new businesses and women entrepreneurs.
Active participation of both the segments in the ‘Made in Gujranwala’ expo was part of these efforts to provide them the opportunity to get visibility and market access, B2B linkages and real-time sales orders, she explained.
Training and Development Programs for SMEs
Among other initiatives, she said, SMEDA has been actively working to enhance the capacity of these SMEs through technical advisory services, training programmes, and guidance on product development, branding and compliance with international standards.
These initiatives are particularly beneficial for women-led enterprises and micro-businesses as they help them overcome the barriers to growth and integration into formal markets, she said.
Diverse Products Showcased at Gujranwala Expo
The exhibition featured a wide array of products including home appliances, plastic furniture, ceramics, sanitary ware, kitchenware and electrical goods. The event also offered business-to-business (B2B) engagement opportunities.
Officials said a good number of people visited the expo, especially on Sunday, and showed interest in products on display. They said SMEDA enabled women and microenterprises to set up stalls of garments, jewellery, utensils and cutlery, organic and home-made products. Officials at SMEDA’s help desk guided the visitors across three days and facilitated their interaction with vendors.
Business Opportunities and Public Engagement at Expo
Besides showcase and business opportunities, the exhibition had special prizes for families through lucky draws.
The Trade Development Authority of Pakistan, Export Development Fund and other organizations also contributed to the event.
