FAISALABAD: SSP Operations Imran Ahmad Malik dismissed four policemen from service at a general orderly room on Saturday for abuse of authority and corruption, a spokesman for Faisalabad Police said.
Assistant Sub-Inspector Abdul Jabbar, posted at Tarkhani police station, had altered a supplementary statement during an investigation and implicated an innocent citizen in the case. He was dismissed from service, the spokesman said.
Naveed, a suspended official posted at Police Lines, was found to have deceived citizens in various areas and extorted money from them. He too was dismissed from service.
Lady Constable Muniba Khalid was dismissed from service for failing to report for duty at her place of posting, the spokesman said.
Constable Abid, posted in the judicial reserve, was found guilty in an inquiry of involvement in supplying drugs during the posting and was dismissed from service.
In the same orderly room, two other personnel were fined for negligence in duty, while the service of one was forfeited. Thirteen personnel were censured, the spokesman said.
“There will be no compromise on discipline, order and corruption,” SSP Operations Imran Ahmad Malik said.
Open Court at the SSP Office
The SSP Operations also held an open court at his office, where he met the applicants one by one and heard their complaints and problems.

He ordered the officers concerned to ensure redress of citizens’ complaints within the stipulated time, the spokesman said.
“Provision of swift and merit-based justice to citizens is the police’s top priority,” the SSP Operations said. “Delay or negligence in resolving public problems will not be tolerated at all,” Imran Ahmad Malik said.
Redress of citizens’ complaints on a priority basis is being ensured, he said.
