FAISALABAD: The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has arrested 29 suspects in raids on two Faisalabad call centres allegedly involved in stealing data from the British banking system, officials said on Friday.
Addressing a press conference, Assistant Director Ijaz said the agency was disposing of complaints promptly on the directions of Director Ali Nasir Rizvi. He said the raided centres were damaging Pakistan’s image.
He said the suspects allegedly entered the banking system of the United Kingdom and stole data.
The Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act clearly provides that committing such an offence from Pakistan against targets abroad is a crime, he said. The arrested men are being produced before the courts.
Zorvex Solution named in FIR 169/2026
In FIR No. 169/2026, registered at the NCCIA police station on October 22, a call centre named Zorvex Solution on Susan Road allegedly targeted British merchants through campaigns about POS machines, electricity, gas and water services.
The FIR says the operators used caller ID masking and spoofing software to impersonate employees of legitimate overseas companies and possessed foreign nationals’ payment card details, passports, driving licences and bank account details.
Three men — Irshad Ahmad, Shoaib Hassan and Hasnain Zafar — were nominated in the case. The raiding team recovered three laptops and three mobile phones. VoIP calling software was found active on the laptops, the FIR says.
Xenex Tech named in FIR 170/2026
In FIR No. 170/2026, also registered on October 22, a second centre named Xenex Tech Solution at Ali Tower allegedly ran the same fraud against British businesses. Sixteen men were nominated in the case.
The raiding team recovered 13 personal computers, three laptops, four mobile phones and a printer from the premises, the FIR says. It also recovered 10 blank hard cards, four suspected forged driving licences, a POS machine and a card reader.
It says the laptops carried sales scripts and lead sheets holding the personal and financial information of foreign nationals. Calling software and a VPN were found in use.
Both cases were registered under sections 13, 14, 16, 25 and 26 of PECA read with sections 419, 420, 468, 471 and 109 of the Pakistan Penal Code.
Harassment, fraud and money laundering
The assistant director said eight suspects had also been arrested in online harassment and child pornography cases, adding that the agency wastes no time on harassment complaints.
He said financial crime was spreading fast, with fraudsters taking passwords through calls and stealing money through links. No fraudster would be spared whatever method they used, he warned.
He said the agency would now also proceed under the Anti-Money Laundering Act. Action was under way in a Sargodha case involving a transaction of Rs350 million, he said. Those holding black money and properties made from it would not be freed, he added.
He said a group at GC University that allegedly changed students’ exam marks after contacting them had also been arrested and sent to jail. “A licence is given to work; there is no licence to commit fraud,” he said.
He said recoveries in the last month stood at Rs12 million, besides six vehicles and 200 kanals of land.
To speed up work, 100 personnel had been taken from Islamabad Police and more from the FIA, he said. Elements involved in anti-state activities would also be arrested, he added.
