FAISALABAD: Faisalabad police arrested five people in three separate actions on Wednesday, including two accused over bogus robbery calls, one over assault on his wife and two over cattle theft, police said.

Police said the three actions were separate. Each arrest followed verification at the scene or an investigation by the relevant station.

Bogus robbery calls exposed

Two accused made robbery calls to Rescue 15, police said. Police reached the scene and verified the claims.

Police found no incident had taken place. The bogus robbery calls had followed a transaction dispute and a minor quarrel, police said.

Police said the accused used the bogus calls to get false cases registered. Police arrested both accused after verification.

The City Police Officer said strict legal action would be taken against misuse of the Emergency 15 service, police said.

Station House Officer Millat Town Ali Akbar arrested the accused, police said.
