SHORKOT: Commissioner Imran Hamid Sheikh ordered immediate steps for a dialysis unit at the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital so residents can receive kidney treatment without travelling to another city, officials said.
He will personally monitor the departmental proceedings and permissions required for the unit, according to officials.
He visited the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital and spoke to patients and attendants about the availability of medicines and uninterrupted treatment. He expressed satisfaction, officials said.
Making government hospitals across the division complaint-free is a key focus, while reducing referral cases by providing required resources is a top priority, according to officials.
The commissioner also visited Bahu Park, the General Bus Stand, the Land Record Centre and the Tehsil Office in Shorkot, stressing further improvement in service quality, officials said.
Beautification projects of the Municipal Committee are under way, with timelines fixed and transparent use of funds to provide residents with the best facilities, according to officials.
The commissioner said he visits districts and tehsils on the instructions of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, while the Shorkot administration remains active round the clock to fulfil the chief minister’s mission, officials said.
Through the media, he appealed to farmers not to burn crop residue but to use super seeders so the possible smog situation this season stays under control, according to officials.
Sites have been selected at union council level for new water filtration plants. A network of plants will soon be laid, officials said.
The visits to districts and tehsils will continue, with no negligence in the provision of municipal services under the chief minister’s vision, according to officials.
