FAISALABAD: The District Bar Association on Wednesday condemned fake police encounters. It said Elite Force, CTD, CCD and Dolphin Force had gone beyond the Constitution and were crushing citizens’ fundamental rights.
The condemnation came in a resolution issued by DBA president Mian Tariq Mahmood and secretary Chaudhry Kaleem Ullah Gul, who expressed grave concern at the state of law enforcement, court orders and basic human rights in the country.

Court orders are defied openly every day, the resolution said. The trend of fake encounters has turned society into a jungle of law.
The resolution said departments and institutions were departing from the Constitution and the law, imposing rules of their own without any legal inquiry. Fundamental rights were being trampled instead of the law being enforced, it added.
The trend of fake encounters has turned society into a jungle of law.
The Elite force, the CTD, the CCD, the Dolphin force and other agencies have moved outside their constitutional limits, the resolution said. Nothing but law-breaking measures are being taken.
Nowhere in the state is the writ of the law visible, it said, adding that the supremacy of constitutional orders must prevail at every level.
Every citizen has the fundamental right to a fair trial under the Constitution, the resolution said. The legal system can work only on that basis.
The bar strongly condemned lawlessness and renewed its pledge that full efforts would continue for the implementation of the Constitution and the law.
