FAISALABAD: The repair and rehabilitation of four major roads in Faisalabad has been completed, while the Lyallpur Museum will now also open on Sundays, officials said on Sunday.
The completed roads are the stretch from GC Women University to Susan Road, the Jaranwala Road section from Koh-e-Noor Chowk to GC Women University, Millat Road and 279 Road. Work on Millat Road had remained stalled for two years before it was carpeted.
Commissioner Faisalabad Dr Imran Hamid Sheikh said deadlines were set for the work and inspections were held to check progress. The Water and Sanitation Agency and the Highways Department completed the work within the given timeframe.
A sewer line was laid on 279 Road before patchwork was carried out. A carpeted alternate route was arranged for Jaranwala Road, where Metro Bus project works are under way.
Managing Director WASA Saqib Raza and Deputy Managing Director Engineering Shoaib Zia visited the Millat Road site. The visit reviewed the carpeting work carried out on the road.

Museum opens on Sundays
The Lyallpur Museum will now remain open on Sundays too. The museum was also open last Sunday.
The decision was taken on the instructions of Commissioner Dr Imran Hamid Sheikh. Director Maqbool Malik said the centrepiece of the museum is its new Tehsil Lyallpur gallery, set in 1896.
