FAISALABAD: Police have arrested two men who allegedly fired at stage actress Nida Chaudhry’s car after mistaking it for the car of a fellow performer they wanted to target.

The arrested men, Ahtesham and Ali Raza, wanted to target Kiran, a dancer who performs with Nida Chaudhry, according to the police handout. They opened fire on the actress’s car in the belief that it belonged to Kiran, it said.

According to the police handout, the attack followed Kiran’s refusal to enter into a relationship with the accused Ahtesham.

The firing took place in the early hours of October 31. A case was registered at the People’s Colony police station under sections 324, 440 and 34 of the Pakistan Penal Code. The FIR was lodged on the complaint of Saima alias Nida Chaudhry.
