CHINIOT: Police claimed that two wanted gangsters were killed by their accomplices’ firing in Chiniot on Friday.
According to the Crime Control Department (CCD) handout, the dead men were gang leader Jaisal Baloch and his accomplice Ali Ashraf, intercepted in Chiniot on November 6 after tracking through Safe City cameras.
The CCD said both suspects were being taken for identification and recovery when their accomplices attacked and opened fire, killing both of them.
The handout said the pursuit began on October 12 after a Honda Civic was snatched in Karachi, when tracking through Safe City cameras was started to trace the suspects.
According to the CCD, its team tried to intercept the suspects in Jhang on November 3, but they managed to escape.
The CCD said Jaisal Baloch was a record-holder in 74 cases while Ali Ashraf held a record in 92, with both men wanted in numerous dacoity and robbery cases.
The police criminal record sheet for Jaisal Baloch, reproduced below, lists 64 FIRs registered against him between 2010 and 2025 across several districts, some ending in acquittal or still at the challan stage, while the CCD puts his total record at 74 cases.

The police history sheet for Ali Ashraf, reproduced below, lists 92 FIRs registered against him between 2014 and 2024, the same total the CCD gives for his record, with statuses ranging from arrested and challaned to acquitted.

The CCD said the gang was wanted across Pakistan for dozens of house robbery and car-snatching cases.
The CCD said the protection of people’s lives and property was its first priority and that operations against serious organised crime would continue without discrimination.
