Man, Woman Shot Dead in Gulberg, Suspect at Large

FAISALABAD: A man and a woman were shot dead inside a house in Kamal Abad, in the limits of the Gulberg police station, on Thursday, police said.

The victims were identified as Sher Muhammad Khan and Ruby. Police said Khan had gone to the woman’s house, where the suspect, Shahid, opened fire on them and fled.

City Police Officer Tanveer Hussain took notice of the double murder and sought a report from SP Lyallpur Division Abid Zafar, a spokesman for Faisalabad Police said.

He said a team had been formed under the supervision of SP Lyallpur Division Abid Zafar to arrest the suspect.

Senior police officers reached the scene, while forensic teams collected evidence from the spot, the spokesman added.

Police said an FIR for the abduction of Sher Muhammad Khan had earlier been registered at the Ghulam Muhammad Abad police station.

The CPO said the suspect would be arrested soon and punished according to the law.
