What PSER Is and Why It Matters
The Punjab Socio-Economic Registry, known everywhere as PSER, is the Punjab government’s household database. It pays nothing itself.
What it holds is a record of your family: who lives in the house, what the household earns and what it owns. That record is what almost every Punjab welfare scheme now uses to decide who qualifies.
This is the point most families miss. A scheme does not usually ask you to prove your poverty afresh.
It tests the record the registry already holds against its own poverty score cut-off. If your household is not registered, you are invisible to that test — no matter how deserving you are, no matter which office you visit afterwards.
Registration is therefore not one scheme among many. It is the door to all of them.
It costs nothing.
The registry calculates a poverty score for every household from the information given at registration: income, family size, housing and assets. Each scheme then sets its own cut-off on that score.
The same single registration can make a family eligible for one scheme and not for another, which is why registering correctly matters as much as registering at all.
What Registration Unlocks
Once your household is in the registry, scheme departments can find you when a programme opens. The main schemes that run on PSER data are:
Ration Card
Grocery subsidy for low-income families, paid every month to households that qualify on the registry’s poverty score.

Cash support every three months for persons with disabilities who are registered, certified and assessed as not fit for work.

Cash support for deserving families in Ramzan. Nobody applies for it — families are selected automatically from PSER data.

Emergency help for a family in sudden trouble. Cases of PSER-registered families are processed faster because their record already exists.

The housing loan programme targets its applicants using PSER and NSER poverty data, so a correct registry record supports your case.

Every new Punjab welfare programme is being built on the same registry. Registering once, correctly, keeps your family in line for all of them.
Who Can Register
Every household in Punjab can register — rich or poor. Registration simply records your household in the survey; it is not itself a benefit and it is not refused to anyone.
Whether you later qualify for a payment depends on the poverty score the registry calculates from your income, your family size and your assets. Each scheme sets its own cut-off on that score.
Registering therefore does not guarantee a payment, but not registering guarantees one thing: you will not be considered at all.
How to Register — Three Free Routes
Online, from home
Open the official portal, create an account with your CNIC and mobile number and submit your household’s details. The portal link is given at the end of this page.
Registration centres
More than 5,000 PSER registration centres are working across Punjab, along with e-Khidmat Markaz counters. Staff there enter your household’s details for you.
Survey teams
Government survey teams are also going door to door in many areas. If a team visits your street, you can give the same documents to the team at your own door.
Documents to Keep Ready
- The CNIC of the head of the household.
- The CNICs of all adult family members.
- B-Forms of the children.
- A mobile number, for the account and for messages about your record.
Keep the whole family’s documents together before you start, whichever route you use.
Most failed or delayed registrations are caused by a missing CNIC or a family member left out of the form — and a member left out of the record can be left out of a scheme later.
How to Check Your Registration
Many households were registered by survey teams without realising it. Before registering again, check first.
Sign in at the official portal with your CNIC and see whether your household record is there, or simply send your CNIC number by SMS to 8070. If the record exists, there is no need to register a second time.
For any difficulty, the PSER helplines are 0800-02345 and 1221.
Four Mistakes That Cost Families
Paying an agent. Registration is free at every route — online, at centres and at your door.
Any person demanding a fee is not part of the process.
Registering twice. One household needs one record.
Check on 8070 first; a duplicate creates confusion instead of advantage.
Hiding income or assets. The poverty score is calculated from what you declare.
Wrong information can push your score either way and can be corrected against records later.
Leaving family members out. Schemes count the household as recorded.
A member missing from the form may not be counted when a scheme opens.
For Faisalabad Readers
Faisalabad households can register at the e-Khidmat Markaz and at PSER registration centres across the city and its tehsils. Keep your family’s CNICs together before you go and complete the whole household in one visit.
Never pay anyone for registration: the process is free at every route. Any person demanding a fee is not part of it.
