Three alleged criminals sustained bullet injuries during two separate reported shootouts with the Sattiana and Jaranwala Saddar police in Faisalabad on Saturday.
A police spokesperson said that SHO Sattiana, Inspector Aftab Ahmed, along with his subordinates, was on routine patrol near the 74-GB link road when three armed men emerged from a sugarcane field.
Upon seeing the police, the armed men tried to flee from the spot and opened fire. The police also retaliated in self-defense. When the gunfire stopped, the policemen found one injured person at the spot.
The man sustained bullet injuries fired by his own accomplices.
The injured suspect, identified as Delawar Khan alias Delawari, was taken into custody and shifted to a hospital.
Police claimed that the accused had over three dozen cases registered against him at different police stations.
Second Encounter Near Jaranwala Saddar
The second encounter took place in the vicinity of the Jaranwala Saddar police.
Reports said that SHO Jaranwala, Muzaffar Ali, along with his team, was patrolling near Rajbah 99-GB when four suspects on motorcycles turned up on the spot.
Police signalled them to stop, but the suspects sped away toward nearby fields. Taking shelter, the accused opened fire on the police, which was returned.
When firing stopped, police found two suspects on the spot who sustained bullet injuries from gunfire by their fellows. The injured were identified as Ali Ahmed and Zain Ali.
Suspects Involved in Looting and Roadblocks
It has been alleged that the accused were involved in looting people by raising barriers on the road.
Police recovered two pistols from their possession.
The other unknown accomplices of the accused managed to escape from the spot taking advantage of the darkness.
Police said that raids are being conducted to arrest the fugitives.
