LAHORE: The Chief Minister Punjab Honhaar Scholarship Program has opened applications for the academic session 2026-27, extending the opportunity to students enrolled in the second, fourth, sixth and final semesters.
The programme offers 100% tuition fee coverage to eligible students on merit. The opening was announced on the official channels of the Higher Education Department of Punjab, with the initiative continuing under the leadership of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
Earlier the opportunity was limited to first-semester students. Now students enrolled in the second semester or year onwards at selected public-sector universities, medical and dental colleges and Higher Education Department colleges can also apply.

The selection is merit-based, with no age limit and no gender restriction. Higher education students must hold a Punjab domicile and meet the criteria for academic performance and family income.
The scholarship covers students in selected disciplines and institutions notified by the department. The official application portal is honhaarscholarship.punjabhec.gov.pk, as stated in the programme’s announcement.
The department said the extension aims to reach students who missed earlier rounds, noting that a student’s semester does not define their potential. It has asked students to share the announcement with classmates and university friends so that deserving students can discover the opportunity.
The department’s announcement lists full tuition coverage, merit-based selection, Punjab domicile and coverage across selected disciplines and institutions among the programme’s key highlights. Academic performance and family income criteria will apply to all applicants.
The announcement was shared on the official page of Government College University Faisalabad. Faisalabad universities have been actively taking part in national education forums and government scholarship programmes in recent months. Students eligible under the new round have been advised to apply through the official portal announced by the department.
